Going With the Flow

From February 2011

There's nothing for it this week but to go with the flow. I've got the week off work and things I'd like to do. I'd like to get these colourful polys planted up into their lovely wicker basket but as you can see it's very wet. I don't garden in the wet. In the cold yes, but wet, no. But they'll wait until another day.

From February 2011
Teenage Boy went out of the house early this morning to do his paper round. 'Is it o.k if my mate comes around early this morning?' he asks absently. 'Yeh o.k' is my reply, thinking that the friend in question is not known for being an early riser and would probably turn up at about ten o'clock. No, he arrives at 8.20am, before Teenage Boy is back home from delivering newspapers. Good job I didn't decide to have a lie in then.LOL. Luckily, Teenage Boy's friend is a nice young man and can make himself at home. When Teenage Boy is breakfasted I think maybe it would be a good idea to clean the bathroom, so I begin industriously cleaning the bath, the basin etc when Teenage Boy appears and says 'I need a shower now'. All my work undone, yet again. Perhaps I won't do any cleaning today then. Good decision - as other friends arrive leaving their muddy trainers in various locations in the house....as well as a trail of mud. I give up, find my lovely Nigel Slater book

and bake a coffee and walnut cake instead. It's not complete until Teenage Boy and teenage boys have left the house, so it will last longer than a couple of hours and I can hide it until Mr. F. gets home.

So, this afternoon, I'm not going to try and acheive anything. I'll finish that bar of posh chocolate I was given for Valentine's Day.

From February 2011
Enjoy a nice cup of tea.

From February 2011
Watch one of the dvds I was given at Christmas.

Or I just might listen to some lovely music.

From February 2011
Whilst I catch up on some reading

Not forgetting that chocolate.

I'd love to know how you cope with half term. Do you battle on as usual or give in and go with the flow?

What a great load of ideas would love a week off but no chance this week maybe the end of march when the weather is better. The polys look good wet or dry.

Have a great week off and enjoy

MY CHILDREN ARE ALL GROWN UP SO I NO LONGER HAAVE TO DEAL WITH THOSE SITUATIONS. (THOUGH I MISS THAT SOMETIMES!)

I WOULD LOVE, HOWEVER TO SEE THE REBECCA DVD WITH YOU AND SHARE A CUP OF TEA. I LOVE THAT STORY!

YOU STILL HAVE THAT YUMMY CHOCOLATE LEFT FROM VALENTINES DAY? YOU ARE A VERY STRONG WOMAN!

And in the end what you really did was sit at your computer and entertain the rest of us. Thanks, good choice. geoff.

Hello Tracy. I have to work on the business which is blooming hard when they are all home (particularly as I want to just do the sort of things you mention here), but other than that I go with the flow too. Enjoy x

Have just the one at home now and said Teenage Boy has gone into town with friend so I have the day to myself - which I may spend cleaning ... or not! Happy half term!

I have a week off for half term two, but I'm stuck here in Wolverhampton until the weekend as D couldn't have any time off.

My days are being spent reading, drinking tea and orgainising files and folders on the computer to keep everything tidy and up to date! I don't have any chocolate or cake :(

I'm hoping for a sunny day so I can get outdoors for a browse in the shops and to take some photographs.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your week.

A bit of both, going with the flow getting out the house and tidying up knowing it will look a bomb site in five minutes flat! Particularly with my two little girls running around! aww bless. We had a day out yesterday so this morning was a catch time for me. Although this afternoon its been Wii and a bit of t.v for the girls and bloggy catch up for me! yay.

Wow I am so impressed you have still have chocolate left from last week! What a woman! lol.

Hope you have a lovely rest of the week off. And get your gorgeous flowers planted eventually. Lovely colours!

Well, you certainly have some lovely things to distract you whilst you 'go with the flow'! I have the Nigel Slater book and made the marmalade cake last week:) This week I've really got to stop ignoring the basket full of ironing to be done but I'm very good at finding distractions. Enjoy the rest of your week off:)

Hi Tracy
I spruced up the front doorstep with primulas last week before my tb came home from college. I started work yesterday and then had to take him and a mate fishing, they were going to be gone for 5-6 hours, but rang for a lift within 2 hours, then dossed in the room that I was trying to work in......so I gave up.
I have asked him to help me clear the back garden and pressure wash it but he can't see why??? so that won't be done by him.
I love your post, lovely and bright, apart from the surprise parcel I had today, it has really cheered me up.
Thanks
T x

Could so relate to house full of teenagers leaving a trail of mess behind them....you totally have the right idea with the good books, cuppas and chocolate, was amazed the chocolate managed to last for the whole of your log though, it would have been snapped up by a marauding teenager in that time here.

Just found your blog so thought I'd say hi! I have 2 boys and it hasn't gone too badly so far this week, but I have been a taxi driver a few times!
I've got that Nigel Slater book - it's great isn't it?

At half term Monkeychild goes off to her former childminder and is all smiles. Her 'Auntie Jean' is wonderful and its just like sending the Monkey off to her grandparents. This gives me a chance to catch up on the crafting :-)
