Catching Up

I've finally got chance to pop in and say hello. I want to say a big thank you to everyone who left comments on the last post. They certainly made me feel that I shouldn't give up blogging and should keep going, even if I can only find time sporadically.

I'm couldn't be accused of being the most prolific blogger and I just haven't felt the inclination, even to read many blogs at the moment.

The weather really has had an effect on me this winter and I really cannot wait to be sat in the garden with a cuppa/glass of wine, listening to the birds singing with a little warmth from the sun on my face. We have been out and about but I've been very naughty and not taken the camera with me. Last weekend saw us take a trip to Ludlow and I loved it despite the bitterly cold wind that chilled our hands and feet and saw my poor little nose glowing red like a beacon. I had a lucky day there and found a lovely green cordurouy skirt for just twelve pounds and a sweet little tin from Emma Bridgewater that has been duly filled with home made shortbread this weekend. Sunday meant a trip to Bridgnorth to collect our newly repaired mantel clock from the antiques centre in High Town and once again I feel comforted having it's regular tick tock accompanying my day, punctuated by its deep, serious chimes on the hour and half hour. My word, it's good to have it back home.

Because I've been lazy and not taken my camera with me everywhere I go, I've not got much in the way of photos to show you today. I hope you don't mind but I've quickly taken some photos of the newly finished kitchen. I'm sorry there's no special styling going on although it is pretty tidy. My promise not to clutter it all up is fading quickly as things creep back in and new acquisitions are discovered, oohed and aaahed over and Mr F saying 'buy it you know you'll regret it if you don't. I'll be a minimalist in my next life!

As you can see, it's still tiny, the aga is still a distant dream and you certainly aint gonna eat Christmas dinner in there

but I'm happy. I have new units and appliances that make me happy to be spending time in there

and I know how lucky I am.

Once again, thank you so much more the wonderful comments on my last post. I hope to begin catching up with everyone soon.

SO GLAD TO READ YOUR POST! YOUR KITCHEN IS COZY AND LOVELY AND I CAN TELL YOU ARE ENJOYING IT.

I LOVE LUDLOW AND BRIDGENORTH! WHENEVER I HOLIDAY IN ENGLAND, THOSE TOWNS ARE ON MY MUST LIST! DO YOU EVER VISIT "ZANY LADIES" ANTIQUE SHOP IN LUDLOW? IT'S AWESOME! AND THE ANTQUES CENTER IN BRIDGENORTH IS A FUN PLACE TO SHOP ALSO. OR HOW ABOUT THE ANTQUES CENTER IN CHURCH STRETTON? (CAN YOU TELL I'M READY TO BE THERE AGAIN?)

HERE IN THE MIDWEST OF THE U.S., WE JUST HAD ANOTHER SNOW STORM! IT IS SO TIRING. I HAVE TO KEEP CHANTING THAT "SPRING IS COMING, SPRING IS COMING".......

Oooh, nice kitchen, especially the sink and window area. Love the colours and your bits and pieces. It's so clean and tidy looking too. You've inspired me to go and clean and tidy mine now, it's certainly not worthy of a photo shoot the way it is at the moment!

I've been having 'Sporadic Blogger Syndrome' for a while now, and at first felt terribly guilty. But it's your blog - you should blog as and when you want to. I'm sure I'm not the only one who will be pleased to see you when and if you want to write. :) x

OH MIZ FUNKY, IT'S ALWAYS BERRY'S FOR TEA. I ALWAYS TRY TO EAT IN THE GARDEN. IT'S DIVINE! RIGHT NOW MY HEART IS ACHING BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW IF I WILL BE ABLE TO HOLIDAY THERE THIS YEAR! THE SELF CATERING COTTAGE THAT I ALWAYS RENT IS NOW A TEMPORARY RESIDENT FOR THE OWNERS SON. SHE DOES NOT KNOW HOW LONG HE WILL LIVE THERE.

I'M SURE IF YOU'VE READ SOME OF MY EARLIER BLOGS, YOU KNOW HOW I FEEL ABOUT SHROPSHIRE! I FEEL SO CONTENT AND AT HOME THERE AND HAVE EVEN MADE SOME FRIENDS. BY THE WAY, IF YOU SHOULD HAPPEN TO GO INTO IPPICAN IN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS, SAY HI TO LESLIE FOR ME O.K? AND YOU MUST TRY THE MEAT PIES AT THE WENLOCK BUTCHERS SHOP. THEY ARE ALSO DIVINE AND WILL BE A GOOD TAKE HOME MEAL.

Dont feel too bad about not blogging, as these comments have proven we all go through it from time to time.....here's to an end to such terrible weather, a vino under the apple tree in the summer sun, ah heaven! x

Lovely kitchen - have really enjoyed looking at your photos.

I know exactly what you mean re blogging, but in a way, that's the beauty of the system - it's there for us to use if and when we want to.

For new visitors there's a lot of interesting information to read and see. Your 'regulars' are the ones' most affected by a long absence - and will surely appreciate anything posted after a long quiet spell! Bye for now, Lesley

Your kitchen looks so light. I'd have no time for blogging, just wanting to stand in it, with a cup of coffee in hand, all day! The worktops and draining board are something special. My grandparents had a lovely mantel clock and I always remember the chimes on the quarter, half, and hour. It's a very homely sound. 2009 wasn't a good year for me and blogging, I had too much other stuff clouding my mind. I hope you keep up on your blog, if only sporadically. x
