That Friday Feeling

I love Fridays. After twenty-odd years of working Fridays it is now my day. O.K I do need to go supermarket shopping and there is usually some ironing that needs attending to but it still feels as though I begin the weekend a day early. It is also the day when I can have an hour to myself browsing the local shops and today the charity shops came up trumps. This was the scene on my dining table five minutes after I arrived home this morning.

And this is how they all looked after a wash and scrub up.

Best of all the whole lot came to less than £4.50. The bargain of the day has to be the plate which came in at an astounding 99p and I adore anything decorated with violets or pansies. I feel pretty pleased with myself I can tell you!

Just to finish the day off and complete my feeling of elation, this little beauty dropped onto my doormat at lunctime.

All I need now is a bar of Green & Blacks white chocolate and my joy is complete.

Ooh I love it all! Just the type that I would and do buy. And all so cheap. My weekends always begin on Friday and I don't work at the moment!

I think it is lovely to have fridays off! I used to, for a while, and it made all the difference to me.
In fact, I often wonder who was the idiot who decided on 5 days work,2 days for the weekend..he got it completely the wrong way around, didn't he?!! ;-)

Wow - that was some good 'thrifting' as the Americans say.

I just had to nip by and say '3rd place! ... woohoo!'

Hi - glad to see your bargains - gorgeous. I am hoping by next year that I can drop my Fridays as well. I have decided that life is too short and I need some me time at the age of 52! I shall do exactly the same on a Friday. I used to have a theory when I worked from home as a soft furnisher and was able to go into town during the weekdays that Monday was the best day, because working people had put stuff in on Saturday and the staff hadnt got it out until Monday!

What a successful Friday! And what bargains! Well done.

Now if you feel you need a steamer chair like the one on the front of the CL diary ... we just happen to have one at Dairy House!!

Postie delivered plenty of post this morning ... through the letterbox!

Now where exactly did you say you found these bargains ?????!
Of course it is a well guarded secret and I don't blame you!
I regret to say that the bargains in Bath are very few on the ground.. far too expensive despite the glut of charity shops that are springing up everywhere..
There's always to local booty of course..
Enjoy this Friday and the weekend to follow..

I've got a thing for violets too. I have a collection of Devon Violets bottles, the earthenware ones. Your plate is lovely, and would be perfect to display some Mr Kiplings on! x
