Cake Stand OCD?

Today, I fully intended a quick post to show off my latest couple of purchases but it has developed somewhat, as I begin to realise that I might have a problem. Firstly, let me show you my latest tin (I'll save that particular problem for another day). I saw this for the first time over at The Henhouse and feeling quite upset that I hadn't received my copy of the Emma Bridgewater catalogue I popped over to the Bridgewater website and a few days later, here I am, proud possessor of this gorgeous little tin but still not in possesion of an EB catalogue. Now, the next item I'm going to show you is part of the problem.

Yes, I love its pink, frilly, gorgeousness and the fact that at a fiver from Matalan it's quite a bargain and you cannot deny how luscious pink-iced cupcakes will look sat on top of its sheer loveliness. The problem is, I already have several cake stands and think that I might just have cake stand OCD. I have some lovely domed cake stands

and some very nice glass stands that will stack neatly on top of each other for a glamorous display.

I love the patterns that are formed in these moulded glass pieces.

I also have a very pretty, flowery, thirties style stand

and some very attractive creamware stands.

I think that's eight cake stands in total. My passion for them doesn't stop there. I've also been eyeing up this piece of gorgeousness from Laura Ashley.

I'm trying very hard at the moment trying not to add it to my basket and proceed to checkout. Well then ladies, do I have a problem? Should I seek help? I'm like this with everything - I have to have loads of stuff and one is never enough. Except for husbands.

And do you know the worst thing about this obsession? - I haven't got one slice of fruit cake, one coffee cupcake, no scones, not even a slice of plain sponge to adorn one of these wonderful cake stands today. Sad or what?

I also have to thank Tracey at Tracey's crafty scraps for this award. Many thanks Tracey.

I have also purchased the lovely EB tin, actually that's a lie, I sweet talked my OH. Not too sure what i'm going to use it for yet, if anything.
You're not the only one with a problem, I have lots of little collections and find it very hard not to keep adding to them.
Lovely cake stands by the way.
Have a good day

Collections are lovely, whatever they are. Your cake stands are just gorgeous. I particulary love the creamware ones. I'm going out for afternoon tea at a posh hotel for my hen do and am hoping there will be some very cake heavy stands in attendance!

No, you definitely don't have a problem. Cake stands are gorgeous, divine, wonderful and even USEFUL! I have loads too, so I could, of course, be biased. Loved seeing your collection, thanks for showing us. (Should I be on commission with Emma Bridgewater???)

Nah, that's not a problem! They're gorgeous! I have one creamware one that has imitation birds eggs on and I always look at it and wish I had some more.

The tin is scrummy, I've got a real soft spot for union jacks so I am rather jealous!

I don't think you have cake stand OCD at all! You don't have to use them just for cakes either. You could display jewellery on the glass ones or a lovely pot plant etc. A few cakes would be nice though!

I simply don't have the space to store things like those lovely cake stands. More's the pity.

(Through to the 5th round then? Still waiting to see which one of Liverpool or Everton we play next :-O ) x

I think you should start baking!!!
Though I am a fine one to talk.. I have three similar cake stands and they are permanently stored in the kitchen dresser...
You never know.. I might get to make a cake without burning it one day!

How many Cake Stands!! LOL! I love the domed one, I have been trying to get one with a lid for ages, so that they can sit on a plate and not dry out whilst being admired!! Andrea x

You are OK, really. I have a thing for them too but sadly I dont have any of the wonderful domed ones like you. Looks like that will have to be next on my list. You know that this means you will have to have a BIG garden party and do lots of baking so that you can use them and show them off. That pink one is fab. I have a small collection od the old pink glass and have been looking for a pink glass cakestand for ages. I would prefer a vintage one of course but for £5, it might be worth checking out! Thanks for the tip.

surely you can never have enough cakestands? Is the one from Matalan in the shops now? i want it!!! and that tin, just lovely x

Oh but what a nice addiction to have! Join the club - five in my house and counting.

ooooh I want that tin now too. I've got two Mattehw Rice lunch box tins (gardening and biscuits) they're lovely and a snip on ebay. I'm starting to get a bit ticked off with the non delivery of catalogues (EB and now CK). I will bloomin' buy something from them too, not like Boden which just makes me dream.

What do you have to do to spend money with these people - beg?

Thanks for sharing your lovely pics.Enjoy the weekend.

I have a few cake stands too but never have them out on display. My weakness is fabric, it's stored all over the house and I just purchased more off ebay this week! I also have this thing about bags, my wardrobe door wont shut at the moment, too many of them stuffed in there.

If anyone asks just tell them it is a "collection" of cake stands, that means that you can have as many as you like!!!
